Strathbogie Shire Council Mayor Laura Binks said the locations provided the perfect settings, with the Nagambie event on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend overlooking the lake, while Euroa’s was in the main street at the former Gamble’s Nursery site on June 18 and 19.
The events featured ice skating, virtual reality, live music, cosy seating, games, delicious treats and snow.
“The ice-skating spots filled up so quickly that we decided to extend the hours on both Saturdays until 7pm,” Cr Binks said.
“It was magical to see the events lit up after dark and we are so happy that the activities on offer were so popular among our community.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to GoNagambie and the Euroa Chamber of Business and Commerce for their support to help run these amazing family-friendly events.
“And a huge thank you must go to Bill and Helen Stubbs for kindly allowing the Euroa event to be held on their land.”
Winter wonderland was one of a number of events organised by Strathbogie Shire aimed at its younger residents.
Activities include movie screenings, skate events and much more.
