I am standing for local council election.
l believe council needs to come back to basis on things like rate-capping and keep the budget under control; look at safety issues like speed limit and more consultation with the community; repair broken footpaths and gutters, and add additional footpaths where needed; return red bins on a weekly basis and get resource recovery centres open extra days or introduce hard rubbish collection or give ratepayers two free tickets to the transfer station; and advocate for our roads to be brought up to high standards, remove all speed humps and upgrade black spot areas.
Businesses across Greater Shepparton need to be on the same permits as each other. I would advocate for Australia Day to stay as is unless the Federal Government decides to change the day.
I have lived in Greater Shepparton all my life, for the past 19 years in my ward of Lower Goulburn. I have been involved in community service for the past 30 years, which includes Lions, the CFA, Kiwanis club of Mooroopna and Mooroopna street committee where I am still a member and not involved in any political party.
