In conjunction with AFL Goulburn Murray the organisation has rolled out a number of Auskick and Superkick clinics for footy-mad youngsters, starting with successful programs hosted in Mansfield and Moama last week.
Now it’s Shepparton’s turn.
The AFL Victoria School Holiday Program will arrive at Kialla Recreation Reserve on Tuesday October 1, running from 9am-3pm.
Auskick programs will be offered for kids aged five to seven, while Superkick will cater to those aged eight to 12.
There will be mixed and all girls programs on offer.
AFL Victoria participation co-ordinator Kevin Monaghan encouraged parents in Shepparton and surrounds to book in for the final session of the school holidays, detailing what the programs are all about.
"Auskick and Superkick participants will learn fundamental skills of footy which include kicking, handballing and marking,“ he said.
“The Superkick offering is designed for kids ages eight to 12 years as it is more game-based and a pathway to junior footy.
“It’s great for all levels of footy participants, whilst it also tailors to beginners who want to play footy for the first time.
“All participants will receive a footy, Auskick or Superkick activity booklet and other giveaways that we will give out on the day.
“Parents can leave their child with our program with written or verbal consent."
