YMGCR Bowls
Wednesday Social Bowls.
A creditable field of 32 players playing across both greens enjoyed the fine conditions and free running greens last week.
Games were played in the east – west orientation. The winners, on the day were the team of Ian Febey and Peter Lidgerwood who took home a very handy $120 between them.
The runners up were the side of Greg Fisher and Les Wilson whose prize was $30 each. The losing rink consolation prize went to the combo of Ron Lamson and Chris Horne who won $30 between them.
The Lucky Number winners were Ian Keat, who pocketed $20 and Barb Presnell who won $10.
Friday Social Bowls.
Player wise, the numbers were the same for last week’s Friday Social Game as last Wednesday, 32 players.
As with Wednesday the greens were running quickly, and games were played east – west.
A gusty southwest wind kept the temperatures down, even though there were extensive sunny breaks.
There was a twist to the winning prize this week; rumour has it that after having won first prize over the last few games of Wednesday, and Friday Social Bowls, one team had their number drawn again as the winning rink.
In a magnanimous gesture from the team concerned they asked that the winning rink number should be redrawn.
Thank you for your generous gesture, Vicki and Col Withers. Benefitting from the redraw were the team of Wayne, (Snodger), Lowrie and Julian Jones, who finished up with the first prize.
The runners up prize went to the side of Ray Butler and Neil Loveridge. The losing rink consolation prize went to the combination of Peter Verlardo and Trevor Kilpatrick.
The first Lucky Number Prize went to Bob Evans, and the second Lucky Number prize went to Neville Coleman.
