Saturday the reserves took on Greta.

It started out as a wet scrappy game, we used the ball well in the first quarter, getting through-ball into our attacking 50, but just couldn’t capitalise on the scoreboard, 2.8.
After a really fast start from the All Blacks, Lachlan Sinclair was best-on-ground for us; his efforts and attack on the footy once again was a level above.
All our midfielders battled all day in the wet conditions: Harry Parsons, Brendon Smith and Ayden Amos all got plenty of good touch, really starting to work well together as a midfield group.
Coming into the last quarter we made a few changes, really rolling the dice, and it paid off, kicking four goals to none, assisted by Jacob Donlon being able to hit the scoreboard and provide that forward entry we needed.
We must also mention Jesse Walker’s game, playing an all-rounder role as an extra defender at times. This provided extra run and carry out of defence moving forward.
In the end we ran out 45-point winners. We look forward to taking on Bonnie Doon at home next weekend!
Seniors
Yesterday the All Blacks took on Greta for the Gerry Crothers Cup.
The boys had a great start, Al Jacka and Lochie Morrison having big impacts early.
We had finished the first quarter with a 20-point lead.
After the first quarter Greta adjusted and threw numbers behind the ball, clogging up the space for our forwards.
In a back-and-forth second quarter, Trent Chapman kicked a goal in his first game for the club this year!
We went into the main break up by 19 points.
In the third quarter we managed to move the ball through Greta’s defence better, being more patient with our forward entries. Cody Crawford continued his excellent form, finishing the day with three goals.
We finished out the day grinding out a scrappy and hard-fought game, winners by 37 points.
Al Jacka was awarded the best-on-ground medal for his outstanding performance. Next weekend we take on an in-form Bonnie Doon team on our home deck which is sure to be a huge test.
Medal winner: Al Jacka was awarded best-on-ground for the Gerry Crothers Cup.
Clean connection: Corry Westbury spears it forward.
