The Benalla product has not featured for Carlton in almost three years, but will return to the Blues’ line-up in Friday night’s clash against rival Essendon.
Carlton revealed on Tuesday night the 25-year-old would add to his 41 appearances for the Blues in the round 13 clash.
Marchbank was last sighted playing in the top flight on July 7, 2019, when he suffered a fractured vertebra in his neck against Melbourne.
The number seven pick in the 2014 draft then missed 2020 due to injuries, before he ruptured his ACL in April 2021 in his comeback through the VFL.
Marchbank has been starring for the Blues at VFL level this season and the key defender will bolster the side’s defensive stocks.
Meanwhile, Mooroopna product Millie Brown is set to continue her AFLW career, albeit at a new club.
Brown, who missed the entire 2022 season, was traded to Western Bulldogs on Tuesday.
The Cats’ father-daughter selection had been placed on the club’s inactive list and sat out the recent campaign due to personal reasons.
The talented defender has struggled with injuries since she was drafted with pick 11 in 2019 and has played nine games.
Geelong received picks 24 and 56, while Western Bulldogs were handed pick 21 in the deal that sees Brown head to the Kennel.
The Bulldogs’ head of list management and recruiting Mick Sandry said the club was thrilled to welcome Brown.
“Millie is a highly-talented footballer who we are really excited to add to our list,” Sandry said.
“She has played most of her recent football as a defender – having been named an U18 All Australian - but also has the ability to go forward, so we think her versality will be a huge asset.
“She is a great reader of the play, attacks the ball in the air and is really composed under pressure.”
