Adrian Squires, Ahmed Ezza and Flynn Mosley, playing for the Possums, had a 4-1 win over the Kangas, Rob Erskine and Michelle Feldtmann. Adrian beat Rob in straight sets. Michelle also won in straight sets against Ahmed. The Possums won the doubles in four. Four set wins were enjoyed by Adrian over Michelle and Flynn over Rob.
The Redbacks, William Tong and Flynn Mosley, had a 5-0 victory over Phil Keast and John Chiswell, who were playing for the Taipans. All matches were straight sets except Flynn’s four-set win against Phil.
The Plovers, Shaun Murphy and Logan Hyland, had a 3-2 win against the Owls, Stephen Lane and Paul Shea. Stephen beat Shaun in straight sets. Logan won against Paul in five sets. It was a four-set win to the Plovers in the doubles. Shaun and Stephen had straight sets wins against Paul and Logan, respectively.
Due to a shortage of players, the Yellowbellies forfeited to the All Stars.
The Galahs, Brian Harrington and James Depio, had a 3-2 win over the Kookaburras, John Holschier and Christian Squires. Brian beat John in three sets. Christian beat James in four. The Galahs won the doubles in four sets. John beat James in four sets and Brian beat Christian in three.
B-grade
The Gliders, Wesley Shea and John Spencer, had a 4-1 win against the Numbats, Graeme Sharp and Gavin Hunt. Wesley beat Graeme in five sets. John won in straight sets against Gavin. The Gliders had a strong three-set win in the doubles. Wesley won in straight sets against Gavin and Graeme beat John in a close five-set match.
The Cockies, Chris Goode and Jorge Abaunza, had a 5-0 win against Pauline Hooper and Rae Spencer of the Wombats. Pauline took both Chris and Jorge to four sets. All the other matches were three sets.
The Mozzies, Mehdi Zamani and Daniel Wright, won 4-1 against the Frogs, Chris Seely and Lois Hermiston. Chris beat Mehdi in four sets. Daniel had a straight sets win over Lois. The Mozzies won the doubles in four. Daniel beat Chris in three and Mehdi won a five-set match against Lois.
The Crickets, Carol Perry and Bill Sharp, had a 4-1 win over the Joeys, Alejandro Diaz and Laurence Donaldson. Alejandro beat Carol in five sets. Laurence won in three against Bill. The Crickets had a straight sets doubles win. Bill won a four-set match with Alejandro and Carol beat Laurence in three.
C-grade
The Falcons, Beth Grant and Peter Cruickshank, had a 4-1 win against the Magpies, Greg Cornell and Andrew Morris. Beth beat Greg in straight sets. Peter beat Andrew in four. The Falcons won the doubles in four sets. Greg won against Peter in four sets and Beth had a straight sets win against Andrew.
The Crows, Andrea Cathcart and Josh Kirley, won 4-1 against the Jays, Christine Nicholas and Val Kipping. Andrea won in straight sets against Christine. Val had a five-set win over Josh. The Crows won the doubles in three sets. Andrea beat Val in four and Josh beat Christine in a tight five-set match.
The Doves, Andy Donaldson and Jack Erickson, had a 3-2 win against the Eagles, Brendan Kipping and Lily Kipping. Andy came from two sets down against Brendan to win 14-12 in the fifth. Jack beat Lily in four sets. The Doves won the doubles in four sets. Andy won in three against Lily and Jack beat Brendan, also in three.
