Since the start of the summer table tennis season, the club has seen an influx of school-aged competitors.
The old hands of the club have welcomed the newcomers and fresh competition with open arms.
Club president Phil Keast is excited to see the club bustling with new faces.
“They’re really enjoying it, as far as we know,” Keast said.
“They’ve brought some friends along, a couple have come down to check us out, and then they’ve brought a couple more (friends) down and a couple more down.
“If everybody turns up, we’ve got a full house, but we’re still encouraging kids to come down and have a hit.
“We want to get as many people here as possible; there is always room for fill-ins.”
Benalla Table Tennis Club runs three seasons a year, each 12 weeks long.
The club meets on Tuesdays with members encouraged to arrive from 7pm to help set up tables with the competition starting at 7.30pm.
Players will play a competitive three-set match each week, with the night wrapped up by 9pm.
There are three competition grades with a mix of age groups in each section.
