After a slow start the A-grade side quickly got their act together to control the game.
They extended the lead to 20 goals in the second quarter and despite challenging weather conditions, Finley’s performance improved with each quarter, ultimately increasing the lead to 28 goals by the end of the match.
Special mention to Sarah Taylor and Georgia Southern for stepping up and filling in for A-grade this week.
Jordan Gray and Paige Gray kept the defence end strong and contested well, while Chelsea McDonald and Sienna Burke shot accurately despite the weather.
The midcourt players - Daisy Daniel, Milly Op’t Hoog and Kate Purtill - adapted to the weather and ran hard to convert turnovers.

B-grade: Finley 40 def Barooga 37.
The B-grade Cats provided another nail biting finish, recording a three goal win.
The Hawks started strong and held a five goal lead at the end of the first quarter.
After a few positional changes, the Cats were able to keep in touch and were only three goals down at three-quarter time.
With some added motivation from their passionate coach, the Cats fought out a three goal win in cold, windy conditions against a quality opposition.

C-grade: Barooga 53 def Finley 39.
Conditions were cold, wet and windy at Barooga on Saturday, where the home side took a clear lead which Finley could not peg back.
The slow start meant the Cats were playing catch up all day which was not ideal in those conditions.
The third quarter saw a turn around and Finley managed to bring a 15 goal deficit down to eight. But Barooga were defensively sound and shot extremely well so it was too little too late.
Players worked hard, the effort was there and they are encouraged to stay positive for the last four games.

C-reserve: Finley 46 def Barooga 42.
The conditions and strong opposition made for a tough game. Its was goal for goal throughout with no team able to get a lead by more than two goals.
The last quarter saw the Cats come out strong and gain the lead, which they were not going to relinquish.
Mandy Fleming was impressive for her strong defensive pressure and great work out of defence through the midcourt.
Karen Donkin who returned from holidays and unaffected by the wind her shooting was on fire, as were her drives and work in the ring.

Under-17s: Finley 59 def Barooga 22.
The weather wasn’t stopping the girls who recorded a 37 goal win with a great team game by every player.
They were connecting strongly from end to end of the court, utilising every intercept and playing smart netball when bringing the ball down and through the midcourt.
Paige Gray played brilliantly in the shooting circle scoring from any angle.
Charlotte Fleming was also a stand out for her defensive efforts causing turnovers all game.

Under-15s: Finley 35 def Barooga 22.
The team played with a positive attitude showing some great passages of play to record a 35 to 22 win.
The defensive effort was relentless all over the court causing turnover opportunities.
Sophie Urquhart, who played an important role at WD, continues to improve her game.
Another important player was Tilly Burton for her versatility and determination.
It was great to see players display patience in seeking out best attacking options as a reflection of the slippery and windy playing conditions.
A consistent four quarters and a great team effort.

Under-13s: Finley 24 def Barooga 8.
The game conditions were tough with strong winds and the odd shower, but the girls came out fighting and proved their worth.
With some great intercepts from defenders and excellent ring work by the shooters.
There was also good ball movement in the midcourt and positive talk from all areas.

Under-11s: Not scored.
The under-11s had a fresh start on Saturday morning, with windy conditions, short sharp passes down the court worked most effectively.
Strong bodies and tight defence in the defensive end saw many turnovers.
The fight and chasing of loose balls allowed the girls to capitalise on all opportunities.
