Ben Wapling will be the coach of the Bats’ senior football side, as the club looks to build on the 2023 season.
Ben has a family connection at Goorambat, following in the footsteps of his father, who also coached the Bats.
Dennis Wapling (Ben’s father) was a premiership coach of Goorambat in the 1970s.
The club is excited to have Ben on board, with his proven senior coaching experience at other local clubs over the years and more recently, having a long involvement in coaching at junior level.
Ben said he was keen to build on what the team already had at Goorambat.
He said he was chuffed to have been asked to take the role, as coaching at a senior level was something he wanted to get back involved in.
Ben is already working in with the senior side’s leadership group and football department co-ordinators, focusing on recruitment for next season.
Goorambat is also happy to announce the re-appointment of Nathan Delaney as reserves football coach for season 2024, with Gary Priest as reserves assistant coach.
