Representative netball outfits from across the Goulburn Valley and Murray region enjoyed success at the Netball Victoria North East Association Championships on Sunday.

A number of teams from the region descended on Albury for the annual event.
Squads from the Goulburn Valley League, Murray Netball League, Shepparton Netball Association and Picola District league got the chance to showcase their talents against their fellow North-East Victoria rivals.
The 13-and-under Murray League side went through the day undefeated, winning the final over Wodonga.
Murray pencilled in a commanding 20-9 victory to book a spot in the finals.
In the 17-and-under competition, the Murray side got to the semi final, however fell out to Albury, while the 15-and-under team did not make the finals.
Although the GVL was unable to walk away with a win from any of its travelling teams, the league’s 15-and-under contingent came close to saluting.
The 15-and-under age group, featuring Barooga’s Mackenzie O’Dwyer and coached by Mooroopna A-grader Bree Hanslow, along with assistant coaches Meagan Harrison and Sue Egan, fell at the last hurdle to Albury Netball Association.
The GVL suffered a 15-7 defeat in the grand final.
Despite the eight-goal loss, the 15-and-under outfit now heads to the Association Championship finals later this year.
The 15-and-under squad consisted of Paige Simpson, Amani Issell, Claudia Plattfuss, Madison Pearse, Matisse Martin, Sophie Munro, Mackenzie O’Dwyer, Montanna Burke, Brianna Turner, Gabby Moore, Jaylah Meda and Rubi Diffey.
In the other grades, the 17-and-under team was unable to get the job done against Ovens and Murray in the semi-final and suffered an 18-8 defeat.
