Coaches Lee, Erin and Amber from Benalla Hockey Club with school assistants Matea, Isla and Mackenzie have visited Benalla P-12 College Avon, Waller and Clarke St campuses, Peranbin Primary College Swanpool and Violet Town campuses, Broken Creek Primary and Australian Christian College Hume last week, with St Joseph’s Primary on the list for this week.
Fun games of “Rob The Nest”, “What’s the Time Mr Hockey?” and “Number Hockey” teach the basic dribbling, pushing and stealing skills essential for hockey.
The Benalla Hockey Club is holding a “Come and Try Hockey” afternoon this Thursday, March 2.
Primary school kids aged five to 12 are from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, with teens and adults also encouraged to try their hand at hockey from 6pm to 7pm.
All equipment is provided, so bring a drink and a hat along to Benalla’s Rupe Cheetham Hockey Field at Churchill Reserve, on the corner of Waller and Margaret Sts.
