In the balance for much of the morning, the Rams ran out 21-14 grand final winners.
Speaking after the game, Deniliquin coach Bec White said her team deserved the win on the day.
“Cobram have been great opponents all year,” she said.
“We’ve both won two games against each other for the year now so we were lucky we were able to come away with the chocolates in the big one.”
The final score was a reversal of Cobram’s semi-final win and was in the balance early.
In the first quarter, Cobram came from 3-0 down to lead 7-4 before a big second term saw the Rams hold a one-goal lead at the main break.
At the end of the third term, the Rams had a two-goal lead, before Deniliquin blitzed the final quarter to run out seven-goal winners.
“I’m petty proud of the girls,” White said.
“I think we just wanted it a little bit more today and the wet conditions probably suited our team which was just lucky, you can’t pick the weather, so they did really well.”
Ava Richards was named best-on-court for her performance in defence, with captain Emma Parks also putting in a good shift on the backline and shooters Shontai O’Callaghan and Sophie Tilders were on song.
