OKFNL ǀ Panthers A-graders fend off Tarrawingee to finish season on a high
A-grade
Last time against Tarrawingee, the All Blacks won by six, but we knew it would be another close game.

The side has had a good last few rounds and wanted to continue to consolidate its game coming into finals.
Marni Thorne played a vital role in goal defence all game to shut down their accurate and strong goalers earning her best on court.
Down the other end in the goal ring Georgia Spencer came into her role as goal attack and dominated to also get named in the best.
Elizabeth Furhmeister continues to be a consistent asset in centre with her athletic abilities to run a full game in that position and smart feeding into the circle, also being in the best.
Even though there were times throughout our game we were only ahead by one goal, everyone kept their heads and continued to push for that win by two goals.
Coming into our last round against Goorambat we know it will be a tough mental game, but I know the girls can get that much needed win.

B-grade
B-grade knew it had to come away with the win to stay in finals contention.
Tarrawingee has a strong defence that proved hard for the goalers to find space, however the patience of the attack and determination of the entire team ensured we had the win.
Kellie Holmes was pivotal in the attack end showing her experience in not forcing the ball into attack and was there for any loose balls, earning her best on.
Elyse Felstead, also named in the best, showed her versatility going into the defence end in the second half that kept the game our way, earning numerous tips and gains for the team.
At the opposite end, Brooke Bradshaw shot goals that were crucial in the win, earning her a place in the best.
We know we have a big game next week against Goorambat, but having a couple of hard-fought wins will hopefully help us heading into it.

The girls played an absolutely beautiful three quarters of netball that was let down by a very disappointing finish. The girls came out cracking, leading by four.
The efforts of Jess Stocker were a huge contributor to this, with her continued efforts and re-leads, and her feeds into the goalers. The girls went into the last quarter down by three, still a reachable margin to take down the team sitting in third place.
Courtney Sammon worked beautifully in the ring, demonstrating her strength and adaptability. Meagan Hausner was an additional asset to the side, putting in 110 per cent for all four quarters.
Unfortunately, the girls were fatigued by the last quarter and Tarra came out fighting to hold onto its spot on the ladder, seeing the margin increase to a 16-goal loss; an incredibly disappointing loss after working so hard all game.
The girls look forward to moving forward and focusing on rivals Goorambat this weekend.

Under-17
This was under-17’s last game for the season against Tarrawingee. It was cold and wet and the game was better than the scores showed.
Lilly Robertson who played defence was best on for the day.
She played a solid four quarters never giving up, but unfortunately Tarrawingee goalers were very accurate in their shooting.
Ella Brennan also played a good game in defence with Haylea Smith. Remi Nicholas and Alia Heeps ran tirelessly all game feeding our shooters Jessica Holland and Kayla Devlin, although Tarrawingee defences were just too good for us to score.
Ruby Ayres was also named in the best playing wing defence and wing attack, doing all the things she was expected to do.
Beccy Holland came up and played a solid half and did her best to shut down Tarrawingee wing attack and got herself an award for best on.
Overall the girls should be very proud of themselves for a fantastic first year playing league netball.

Under-15
The girls played a brilliant game in wet conditions. The score was neck-and-neck the whole game. Unfortunately the All Blacks weren't able to hang on and went down by three.
Imogen Randall was crucial in wing defence sticking tight to her player and getting several intercepts and tips.
Zellie Nicholls stepped up again in wing attack and led from the front for four quarters. Maddy Fraumano adapted extremely well when put into three different positions throughout the game.
All the girls put in a great effort and look forward to another tough game against Goorambat next week.
