Katamatite is back in the Picola and District Football League top four.

The Tigers produced a gutsy 8.9 (57) to 10.11 (71) away win against Katandra on Saturday afternoon, with the result seeing the visitors leapfrog the Kats into fourth.
It was a topsy turvy game in Katandra, with the home side taking a 6.4 (40) to 0.3 (3) lead into quarter time.

After the first break the game turned on its head, with Katamatite storming back to trail by just eight points at the half time break.
In the third term Katandra managed to hold on to a four-point margin, before the Tigers overran them in the final quarter.
Katamatite coach Jedd Wright said his side knew the Kats were going to spread well from stoppages and that’s what they did.
“We started pretty slow obviously,” Wright said.
“At quarter time we were able to make a couple of changes, make sure we got our contested footy back up to scratch and slowly clawed our way back into it.

“I thought we were pretty good around the stoppages and sort of slowed the game down to our level.”
Wright identified that after quarter time Katandra only kicked two goals, with the Tigers’ midfield and backline getting on top, while the forward pressure also improved.

He said that Aram Aldridge had a day out, kicking five goals, with the number 11 well supported by the forwards creating space and locking the ball inside the forward 50.
“It was a huge game and we knew that at the start,” Wright said.

“Maybe that’s what counted towards our slow start, we were over-eager, we knew it was such a big game and probably went away from our brand of footy.
"At the end of the day we were just happy to come away with the points and keep in the hunt for the top four.“
Patrick Riordan was named best-on-ground for the Tigers, while Ben Bray and Patrick Hosburgh also performed well.

For Katandra it was a disappointing result after such a promising start to the game.
Cameron Calder put in a good spell for the home side, as did Thomas Jeffery, while coach Trent Herbert kicked three goals.

In other round 14 action, Jerilderie has put its foot forward for a spot in the finals, handing Waaia its first loss of the season.
Thomas Bryce had a great game for the Demons, while Lachlan Leeds also performed well in the big win.
Elsewhere Katunga picked up an important 26-point win over Rennie, Strathmerton dominated Tocumwal, the Deni Rovers downed Berrigan and Picola United cruised to victory against Mathoura.
