A boom recruitment drive and a hungry youth contingent has Deniliquin Rovers’ A-grade unit primed for a much-improved season on the court.
Former A-grade mentor Carissa Bulmer, who took the Rovers to a preliminary final pre-COVID, returns to the top job this year, and says her side has a lot to be excited about.
“We recruited really well in the off-season which was great, we have a few players that have come in which has given us depth and strength right through our grades,” Bulmer said.
“It’s really phenomenal and it’s something we’ve never really had, we’re really excited to see what 2023 brings.”
Bulmer revealed a Murray League and Goulburn Valley League talent were on their way to Deni this year, alongside some past players who would aid her side’s junior development.
“Our main focus is to support our junior girls, it makes the coaching role easier when junior girls are coming through and there’s some girls coming in this year who will offer them a lot,” she said.
